Kingston and Chapman's Pool

Chapman's Pool

Chapman's Pool from the west

This short, but varied, walk initially ascends through woodland before running along the top of a ridge towards the sea, overlooking a deep valley containing the Encombe estate. It then runs eastwards along the cliff-top before descending to Chapman's Pool, a semi-circular bay. It then returns to Kingston by a gradual ascent up a dry valley.

A circular walk based on the village of Kingston, south of Corfe Castle (grid reference SY 957796). Use OS Explorer map OL15.

Going: Relatively easy, with only one steep descent to Chapman's Pool via steps.

Distance: 3.75 miles (6 Km).

Pub: The Scott Arms in Kingston.
