Portesham and the Hardy Monument

This circular walk initially climbs from Portesham to the viewpoint on which the Hardy Monument (commemorating Admiral Sir Thomas Hardy) is located, before turning east and following the South West Coast Path for a while. It then heads south, descending as it does so, before turning west back to Portesham. The walk offers a number of fine viewpoints.

The walk is based on the village of Portesham, which is on the B3157 east of Abbotsbury (grid reference SY603858). Use OS Explorer map OL15.

Going: Moderate, with a couple of gradual climbs and descents.

Distance: 5.5 miles (8.8 Km).
